Re-Pinning console / glovebox locks? How To

My trunk key doesn't match the console or glove-box locks.
So I'd like to take my existing working trunk key and adjust/modify the console & glove-box to match.

What's involved, is it possible to do this myself.  Any tips / suggestions are appreciated.

hahah funny Andy, I matched my glove box lock the other day, was easy, but the console lock maybe a little different, it might be easier, once you get the glovebox lock out to either have a new key cut, cut your own blank then match your trunk lock.

On an igloo to pick the locks you use an ice pick LOL
 The hardest parts is getting the locks apart , on the glove box the lock has to be in the locked position & there is a small window to insert a paperclip or similar into to depress the retainer to release the lock core , once the core is out there are wafers , Chrysler uses 6 different cut  heights , you can move them around & try to match the depths or if they sit too tall you can file them down a little to match the core diameter . If possible you really need a selection of wafers to replace the ones you need . the console lock is similar but comes apart differently .

I had a same/similar problem (including door locks that didn't match the ignition key).  I bought an entire lock set for the car.  The glove box door lock was the most difficult to change out (as Chryco mentioned), especially since I didn't have a key for it.

Good info, I'll play around with the console first since it sounds easier.
I have a couple of old door handles lock cylinders, are the wafers from these the same?

What's the trick to get the glove box cylinder apart without the correct key?
My key slides in, just won't turn it.

I always wanted to know how to take aprt a glove box door lock. I remember way back in '81 when I had my Gran Coupe the door locks were worn out, so I had a different set of locks in the doors than the ignition, as well as the trunk & console. Funny I had a different key for each lock cylinder in that car, took me several years before I fixed that problem!

door lock cylinders use pins not wafers so no you cannot use parts from them .
You have to pick the lock to the closed position , I am not inclined to teach you how to do that on an open forum !!
