XTREME LEE - whadya think?
« on: March 19, 2005 - 05:12:59 AM »
I got my MCG mag the other day and checked out the xtreme lee project, pretty cool! They kept the look of the General but tricked it out nicely.About the only thing I would do different is leave out the navigation screen, just doesn`t fit in an old muscle car dash IMO.I really like the paint and graphics and the interior is sweet.

Obvious the workmenship is topnotch, but I personally cannot appreciate ANYTHING that embelishes and or glorifies anything that destroyed over 300 Chargers. I never liked the show as a young guy and never watched it, it was hoakie stupid and all it accomlished was to destroy beautiful cars. Yeh, some will say the show made the car famous, to wish I respond  :bs:, the car did not need the dumb show. Sorry, just an opinionated opinion.

If I recall correctly, when the car was on Rides, it didn't have a roll cage.  The original Lee had a cage, so why not put one in a mod'd clone??

All in all, not a bad car, but I think I'd prefer the Fear Factor Cuda.

I've been wonderin' if I should redo my Chally as an Xtreme Vanishing Point Chally...just dunno what that would entail??!!

I've been thinking about a Lee project - "Rebel Lee" Same decals, nudge bar, horn but a BLACK Charger.  8)

It only used the General Lee as a basic guideline - it was not an attempt to reproduce the GL exactly. Kenny already has a General Lee and this was his idea to make a more modern example. (Why have two that are the same?) There is an entire episode of Rides dedicated to the car but they did a lot of talking and flashbacks and not a lot of creating-the-car shots. It has a fuel injected stroker motor, Gear Vendors OD, obviously custom wheels and paint, big ol' sound system, and the interior matches the wood on his guitar. I'm not a big fan of the control center display in the dash but it's his car not mine.

I saw the Rides episode as well.  I do think the car looked good, BUT, something about it bothers me.  I am not sure what it is exactly, but something makes me dislike it.  How could you think a car looks good, but dislike it at the same time (???) .  Raise your hand if I just confused you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Likes;
1)Thankfully not another direct General Lee clone, but a new twist based on that idea.
2)Just love the waving tattered flag & numbers, absolutely cool!
3)Guitar wood on the console
4)That KILLER drivetrain...an injected stroker big block? OH, YEAH! :drool:

Dislikes
1)Rim size. They just don't look right. I like some larger rims on Chargers, not these.
2)The navigation screen...dumb.
3)It's not in my garage! ;D

But like Troy said, it's his car, he can build it his way...I'm sure there's things we would do to our cars that not everyone would agree with, to each his own.
