Choke cable through firewall location.
« on: May 04, 2013 - 09:18:28 AM »
I'm thinking of adding one of those re-popped choke cables to my car because my current set-up has no choke (Holley 600cfm/Edelbrock LD4B).
I saved the orange & yellow firewall pictures but can't see it on either one of them.

Can someone please show me a picture of where the cable exits the firewall? Thanks in advance.

Mopar did not use manual choke cables , you can slide it thorugh one of the other grommets .
You should be able to get a electric choke system for that carb which is the way I would go .

Thanks to both of you. I guess I'll give this more thought.

For the time being I only have to "feather" the gas pedal for a couple minutes before it idles on it's own.

71' Hemi Cuda's (and others) do run manual chokes.

All prior year Hemi cars up to 1971 ran the heat tube choke.

That picture I posted is from one of Wade Oogles personal restored Hemi Cuda's.
He has his cars restored from Roger Gibson & Frank Badalson: Renowned for their expertise in Mopars.
