challenger manifold 340 heat stove
« on: May 16, 2013 - 05:03:11 PM »
Trying to identify the correct heat stove on a 73 340 challenger.  The 73 service manual shows a longer version.  There is a shorter version but cannot find when or how used.
73 Parts manual shows something totally different.

PM member "hooD"  He is the original owner of a 73 340 Cuda.  He has headers on it now but he might still have the original heat stove.

Can't help you , the 340 was an interesting engine though , no heat stove & unsilenced air cleaner up to 71 for sure probably 72 so 73 may be the first year & they may have used different ones through production

I found this pic of a 72 340 air cleaner.(E-body)

So it looks like 72 was the first year for the heat stove on the E-body.

My observations of looking at pics of original 73 340 cars indicate the shorter one is most correct. That is the one I put on my car.
