Hello,

Working on a full 72 barracuda restoration and have been looking exclusevly at AMD panels / frame rails until I came across this supplier - Dynacorn, and their selection of assembled frame rail / inner fender apron sections (as well as others - floor pan / torsion bar assemblies, etc.).

http://www.dynacorn.com/ShowItem.aspx?item=6062

Does anyone have any experience with using these "pre-fabricated" pieces (or possible re-direct to a previous post, as this may have been covered in the past)?  Or is AMD the only way one should proceed with one completing a restoration?  Thanks again.

Dynacorn doesn't do barracuda, just the challenger parts.  You will find that so parts fit better
in Goodmark than AMD and visaversa. Contact your supplier before you order anything. Dave at Roseville
is a good person to talk to bout this.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

A lot of the DII parts are for a Challenger, but obviously will fit a Cuda as well like the inner aprons you mentioned.
The details on the inner aprons around the hood hinges are not accurate, but they might have addressed that by now.

The pre-assembled parts sure save time and have the correct looking spot welds. :2cents:

Thats assuming that the parts are positioned correctly before they are welded together.  AMD  is best bet for quality panels

Well I have had VERY RECENT experience with AMD and Goodmark. Dont kid yourself, aftermarket panels are just that.... AFTERMARKET. We attempted to stick with 1 brand of panel to hopefully make things a little easyer. This was not possible, and because of time constraints we only did half of what we originally intended to do. I will actually finish the job next spring. Ordering different (bigger) panels, for the front "half" of what needs to be done.  As a side note : Thanks to MOPARDAVE  and to MEK for their help.

Anyway, things need a bit of messaging. Mount tabs are not always where they need to be. This is not a TV show where you never see these kind of issues. I'll give you a side by side comparison on one issue just so all can see. My buddys used an AMD rear valance panel on his RT/SE Chally (2 years ago) it was to narrow and had to be sectioned out to meet the lower Q's. We had a talk about what he went through before we got started, so we expected some issues. The Goodmark panel that I used (due to back order from AMD)on the other hand is to BIG, and needed to be brougt "in" and slighty pie cut to meet Q configuration. As a side note - the cut outs for the bumperettes are not exactly where they need to be. I may at a later date try to adjust my bumperettes a little, to better align w the panel.  :(  Granted this is about a tenth of what we all went through, but I got other $#!+ to do.

My body man used the Dynacorn unitized rear section (trunk floor, rear floor area) which includes the rear trunk cross member, the shock cross member and the rear frame rails. Went in fauirly easily.  The indentations in the trunk pan are not as sharp as the originals.  Overall this saved alot of welding effort.  Cost of the section was $1,600.  The result was very good.

AMD is my #1 choice. The rear frame rails are practically perfect. I've been very happy with all the stuff from them. Our 69 charger hood fit amazing! 6 swipes with a file to clean up a corner. Sure,Every panel needs a lot of filler to get nice. I'm about to order almost a whole car... R/T
