Nutz , I hope people can get out of the way .
Yes, it happened again, not an EF5, BUT 5 different tornadoes (so far). Unfortunately, people did not get out of the way. 9 people died in their cars, three of them Pro Tornado chasers.
Multi vortex tornadoes are very unpredictable and these caused very widespread damage and death.
I live just two miles SW of Will Rogers Airport and damage was pretty bad all around it along with many other areas.
I'm very lucky (once again) to survive. This time I heeded the warning (went in the storm cellar) as it was bearing down a wide path.
I had tree damage and lucked out. Many are without power still because of widespread power pole damage.
And then record amount of rain fall to make things worse. two died in flooded areas.
I've never been in a hurricane but can imagine what we went thru Friday night was just the same. I latched chains to keep the lid from blowing up while propping it up just a couple inches and observing the whole thing. The very heavy rain and tree limbs were blowing horizontal out of the west for a while, then out of the east for a while, and then out of the west again. The whole mess lasted around two to three hours of constant pounding wind and blinding rain. Oh, and the sirens went off it seems about three or four different times.
I pray for the families who lost loved ones and folks who's homes were destroyed.
I hope we're done with this season.
God Bless,
Tom
