440 starter

I have bought a set of Dougs headers (452) for my 1970 cuda, 440 engine. Dougs tell me in the footnotes that the headers will fit with a Mopar Performance mini starters DCCP5249644AB. I have a couple questions. Does anyone know what others starters will work with these headers? Does anyone have any experience with any of these after market starters on E-Bay and other places as to quality and durable, or do I have to pay 200.00 or 300.00 for a good starter. I believe you get what you pay for but also know there are good products out there that just do not have the name to pay for. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Ray, I did a search for "440 starter" on here and found some great info.
I'm purchasing mine at AutoZone. It's for a 1995 318/360 dodge truck, it's high torque and fits the 440. Only $69.00 too.
You might try the same search. Lots of good info to read.

Or hit a wreckers & get one from a V8 pick up or van , change the 2 contact terminals & remove the extension where the battery cable connects  & you are good to go

Thanks for the good info guys. I feel almost guilty trying to pinch pennies now but I am nearing the end of this thing and savings is running low. One thing I dont want to do is have to pull motors or headers off to change a starter because I cheated. But.... with the given info from u guys I am comfortable.

Go to Ebay Motors and do a key word search for DB Electrical. They make a very good high torque mini starter for about $75.00 bucks. I've NEVER had a problem with one of these starters. You can pay $300.00 bucks for a brand name mini starter that probably comes from the same place as DB electrical....and that would be China! I know quite a few folks that have used the ones from DB Electrical and they all have been pleased with it. That's what is on my 440 now (works fine). And I too have Doug's headers.
