Carburetor Rebuild
« on: June 12, 2013 - 04:55:20 PM »
So I need to get the carburetor (TQ6340S) rebuilt on my 73 Challenger 340. :( Does anybody know or can recommend who/where can rebuild it? I see a few places on the net like guaranteedcarburetors but not sure who's trustworthy and more importantly, will do a reliably great job. Thanks in advance.

Rebuild on these is quite simple......setting all the measurements can be tedious & time consuming.
If you want it done EXTREMELY WELL use Scott Harms  http://www.harmsauto.com/iHarms_Carburetors.html

Thanks Wade for the information.  I saw the 'Good Guy Alert!' thread where you helped rebuild Larry's carb and the after pictures were amazing. I want my carb to look like that.  I'll take a look at Harms.

For perspective of what Harms charges $499 for, I can strip & "rebuild" one inside of an hour, takes me an extra 3-4 hrs to go through & set all the measurements correctly...to clean one up like I did Larry's I probably spent closer to 20-hrs total.
Harms not only does all of this but replates all the linkages etc....not a bad value.
