Sorry but that is not accurate... At one time many Kenmore products were sourced from Whirlpool, never all of them.
Today very few are.
If you care to support your local independent dealer you will find that the price will be competitive on what they carry and financing (same as cash) is often available.  Sears loves it when you whip out the plastic, that's where they make the real money...& those extended warranties.  :2cents:

Hi,I,m a kithen designer and designed over 5000 kitchens thru out 30yrs.wirlpool owns kithen aid, maytag, jen air, roper, and crosely.I would recommend kitchen aid for quality. If cost is a issue then go to whirlpool. If you want to put it on a credit card then go kennmore its the same as a whirlpool.Kithen aid usually designs the appliances first then it gets filtered down to its other lines a few years latter. :smokin: :dogpile:

For me , I'd rather spend the extra dollar and not install it twice.  :grinyes:

This is a dynamic situation so I just visited the Sears web site to see...Appears SXS & at least some bottom freezer refrigerators are WP, not the top freezers. At least some if not all of the dishwashers are WP. Top load laundry is WP but not front load laundry.  All of the cooking I could recognize appears to be Frigidaire built.

haa, know your beginning to see what sears is about, they buy from whoever gives them the best discounts.sears doesn,t make crapola.they subcontract with whoever they can make a buck .I buy wholesale,I should know what I,m taking about since price out appliances everyday. hey "BIGCLUNK" go to "INSIDE ADVANTAGE" to compare model numbers then get prices. If you don,t mind paying extra for k/A then go for it! Kithen aid markets there appliances for people that make 100,000.per year.I love there line of quality appliances too. :smokin: :grinyes: :dogpile:

We bought a Bosch about 5 years ago. The stainless steel one. I have never had any issues at all with it. I did the install myself. I can say that it is the quietest DW I have been around. The only time you know it's running is when the cycle complete alarm sounds. So far - so good.....

We put a Bosch in the last place that we built - in part because they had a model that accepted a full cabinet front and the dishwasher basically disappeared in the kitchen.

The Bosch's are unbelievably quiet, and for the few years we were there, we had no issues with it.  The long wash and dry cycles for the energy/water efficient appliances take some getting used to, but if you let it do its job, it's fine.

I'd buy another without hesitation.

We've got a 6 year old Whirlpool dishwasher that's worked fine so far.  The only problem we've had is that one part of the LED display is out so as it counts down the time to being done it doesn't display the entire numbers.  What I absolutely would NOT recommend is any LG appliance.  Look at the online reviews if you need more examples specific to dishwashers, but our LG refrigerator has been the worst appliance we've ever owned!  We had the ice dispenser fixed half a dozen times while it was under warranty and they never did get it working right.  The repairman who fixed all brands said they get over half of their work from LG alone, more than the rest of the brands combined.  My experience with LG has cured me of ever wanting another one...  :2cents:

If by supply issue you mean a parts supplier 'quality' issue I would say they've had it for a long time now.  Look at Bestbuy.com, they have a lot of reviews on their products and based on how some of the products get ripped to shreds there, I don't think they're fake.

I would not recommend Sears, as the only way you can get replacement parts is through their call center. At least that's the case I had with a water heater that I purchased from them. Buy Name Brand. A.O. Smith. or some such. No independant dealer will want to work for you (selling parts - especially since they can't get them either) for cheaping out and buying a Sears Brand when it comes to replacement parts. I called about 17 different plumbers/suppliers, and they all laughed in my face. I ended up ordering a thermo coupler that should have been about $10 from any decent hardware store, from Sears at a cost of almost $70.00, and had to wait almost 3 weeks for it to be delivered. Same with ALL Craftsman tools when you need parts. Just buy a decent brand that you can get replacements for. Cold water for 3 weeks! LOL! REALLY? Only option in BFE center of nowhere. You get what you pay for here. ANYthing SEARS SUX. Here, anyway. NEVER SEARS AGAIN. ever.

I still haven't finalized the dishwasher.  Seems I need 34 1/2 " under the counter top... and that's what I have exactly! I don't find shaving the counter top real enticing....  :banghead:

34 1/2" under the counter top is pretty standard.  I think you'll find that almost all dish washers have adjustable feet allowing height adjustment of almost an inch. I have a Kitchen Aid, previously Hobart, that has been totally reliable although not quiet.  PK

Bet you added a new floor or solid surface counter to your kitchen with the DW installed..... One option is to find an ADA compliant model, they will usually be shorter, I know GE & Whirlpool have them.
