Power steering pump replacement questions
« on: July 07, 2013 - 07:06:59 PM »
Power steering pump I have came from auto zone a few years ago.  Probably don't have 5,000 miles on it and it's leaking.  I would like to put a good one in and not have to do this again.  Any opinions on different brands and how well the hold up.  It's a saginaw style on a 440.

I tried seperating the tank from the pump on the last one I replaced.  I couldn't get it apart.  This one is leaking between the tank and the cast iron pumb on the front.  I believe.  Only place I can fluid is at the base of the pumb at the front it's wet

there are 2 or 3 bolts to remove that hold the housing on including the pressure hose fitting the pump should slide out of the housing , make sure the housing is not bent or deformed , there is 1 large o ring around the pump
