Just gone through my third 3.5l V6 car, a 2004 Chrysler Concorde. Needs head gaskets and there is no way I'm paying for that since I'd have to have it done and the car's paint is peeling and the rear bumper cover is seriously dented. Made it 209,000 miles. The one before that made it to 190,000 and the one before that had 260,000!
As far as I know head gaskets going on these engines are rare, then again I seized my last 3.5l V6. I'm looking at a 2000 Chrysler Concorde LXi with the same engine to replace what I had (this is would be my daily driver/winter car). This used car has 100k miles on it and I'll likely have to replace the timing chain after I buy it. I'll try to talk them down on that.
I'll have my service manager friend look the VIN up on his dealer computer and see what there is to see about it's records.
Didn't expect this after buying my Challenger but oh well!
