Driveshaft Shortening Question

Can a B-body driveshaft be shortened by removing material from the front or does it need to be removed from the rear only?

I was told that only the rear can be shortened because of the unique construction of the shaft (second tube inside or something like that).  Apparently it doesn't affect the rear somehow (maybe because of the tapered down diameter there).  I'm hoping you're right since there seem to be more B-body shafts available, but I want to be sure I can actually shorten it from the front.  Have you actually done one, or know someone who has?

I have heard of the double tube issue , I have also shortened many driveshafts , I do not recall getting into an issue but sure as anyhing you will if I tell you it can be done !!

Are the diameters of the small block driveshafts the same as the big block driveshafts?
The yokes on either end are different size.  Yet I've never compared the differences before of the two.

My thinking is: Take my small block driveshaft and convert to a big block driveshaft.

Anything is possible if you have a donor driveshaft. I just got a big c-body driveshaft that had the 7290 ends and had it shortened for the 4-speed. There are alot of driveshafts that will work from other Mopars just need to take to a pro-shop and let them shorten  / balance and even put a new yoke on itf you want.

I had Drive Line in Dubuque IOWA do my DS for my 72 Cuda it was a from full size car with the big u joints.

I assume they cut from the front on that one, then?
