Top or Bottom mounted rear speakers?

All the pictures I have seen in mounting 6 x 9 speakers are mounted from the bottom of the package tray in the trunk. I just bought a 5 channel D-class amp for my Challenger. I will put a custom sub speaker box in the trunk as well. I am thinking of putting a pair of 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 speakers on the rear package tray. I will have some 6 x9 adapters as well. Now to my question should I top mount them or bottom mount them. Oh, they will be co-axiel 2 way speakers. Give me your thoughts or ideas. Thanks everybody.

If you top mount the round speakers they would be going through the package tray cover and would not be as solid as mounting directly to the metal with adapters. .
The 6x9s would be simpler to mount directly to the metal from underneath and then you can use a package tray cover with cutouts for esthetics if that matters.

I did the same thing with good results on my 1970 challenger.
