Just went out to the garage and the needle is hair below 3/4 towards C. I know when i noticed everything dead and stopped the car to pick up my son the needle was at C. It does make sense to have a volt meter than an ammeter a whole lot safer.  So I am carrying a fire extinguisher just in case. Thanks for the information definitely a show stopper!!

So reading more about this fault, I'm looking at the gauges and they are ALL below reading, that is gas gauge needle is below E, Temp below C and Oil below L. I'm wondering if the limiter failed in the 12 Volt position and burned my gauges up. In fact every time I start the car the gauges see 12 volts. I have a series of questions now:

1. Is this scenario possibly that I described?
2. Is there a fuse I can take out for now to stop the 12 volts going to the limiter. if so which one they seem numbered.
3. If gauges are crooked, can the meters interior to the gauge be repaired without purchasing a brand new meter - that would be awful.

Awaiting responses  :faint:
