Kinda nervous to make a change...
« on: August 23, 2013 - 09:35:27 PM »
I don't want to brag or anything, but the set up on my Cuda is right on, at least when it comes to starting...hot or cold, the car fires as soon as you hit the key.  Sure I need to feather the throtle to keep it ideling when its cold, but it fires.

I have a slight hesitation with very light throtle input...shows lean on the O2 meter.  I am trying differnet pump cams and squirters to tune it out, but I have heard that increasing the initial timing, may solve the lean tip in, and even celan up the idel a bit, bu I am hesitant to try change the timing because it is working soooo well.  I may not get it back to where it is right now, although I should be able too.

Just check your timing before you loosen the distributor. Put it back where it was if you're not
happy with the change.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I have basically the same issue with the Challenger and the only real solution that I have been able to come up with after dicking with the carb jets, rods and timing, is to roll the electric choke forward to almost closed.  :dunno:
