Leaf Spring Replacement

Installed the helper springs over the weekend. Rear had been raised one inch and sits at 24-5/8". Turned torsion bar adjusting bolts by one turn. No change in height and still higher than the rear by an inch at 25-5/8". Will wait to find an alignment shop before further adjustment. I will be happy if front and back are the same height.

Rear definitely feels stiffer and the old shocks are still controlling so I am not bouncing all over. Will drive more this weekend to see.

Generally lower is better , dropping the nose is easy  you can reset the toe in with a tape measure in the front & rear of the tires , you want about 1/16 less in front measuring from he same point in the tire , with the rear leaf spring flat it is stiffest for cornering which is why the Hotchkiss spring keep the rear low , good shocks help a lot as well
