70 road runner
« on: September 29, 2013 - 06:44:31 AM »
Ok Brad, don`t get too excited as it`s not for sale yet but if my other options don`t work out here you go-
road runner is a project, body is almost completely stripped and on a rotisserie. Car is FC7 In-violet 383, 727, I have the matching number engine all rebuilt just needs heads and intake bloted on, missing the numbers trans but have a correct casting number and date code case for rebuild, 8 3/4 with a 3.23 s/g. It`s a stripped model with bench seat but did have a Go-wing which I have a repro, I also have an almost complete air grabber setup although it did not come with one. Car needs total resto but is very solid, needs quarters redone and trunk floor but otherwise very clean body. Have most of the parts but most need to be refurbished/ restored. I paid $3500 years ago plus bought all the parts and built the engine so I know I`ll take a big loss but WIW?

Cars on rotisseries are tough to sell unless its to a  local. You should get your $3500 back but I wouldn't count on much more.

It wouldn`t be hard to throw the suspension back under it to sell as a roller.

It's a real tough market to sell a project, especially a "major tear down" such as yours.

First off, you have an idea of the money involved in finishing it and the amount of work still ahead of you. An educated buyer should also realize the cost involved in buying a project of this magnatude and quickly realize he can buy a "done car" for less.

Although your car has a nice desirable colour combo, it's still just a 383 Auto, pretty low on the food chain as far as 70 Road Runners are concerned. You would have to find a buyer that just needs to have it...

I'm sure you have $10K+ invested, but I can't really see anyone paying anywhere close to that...

Some reassembly would help the sale, but not by much in my opinion.

If you truely want to move it.....EBay with no reserve will be a quick indicator of what someone will pay. :2cents:

Ya, with the engine rebuild and parts bought like the air grabber setup I have well over 10K in it, looks like I`ll take a real beating on it!  :banghead:

Why not finish it ?

Or sell it to Brad and have him pay me to finish it...even better :money:
