Winshield base trim: what adhesive?

The big trim at the base of the winshield.
Looks like it once had 2" wide double sticky sided tape to hold it onto the body.
Recomendations?

I've never seen adhesive on this trim. Sometimes the windshield adhesive sticks to it.

Yeah, sone times the windshield adhisive sticks to it, never seen one taped.

I have read where folks glue/tape it down to help with wiper parking issues from wrong windshield gasket/sealant thickness.
No clue what is right. All the ones I have taken off came off easy after removing the screws.
