shift return spring
« on: September 20, 2013 - 09:52:46 PM »
I am cornfused. I have a 73 slapstick shifter with console. I had read numerous threads and pictures about the shift return assist spring under the front console that sits on top of the vertical torgue rod, so I bought one. Turns out my upper shift arm has no hole for a spring. Was there a year or type of shifter that the spring was not used? And since I do have a slapstick should I drill a purchase hole and put it on?

Thanks Ray,
keep honking I'm reloading
