steering stops
« on: September 24, 2013 - 07:56:37 AM »
1970 cuda with 440. I have the deep sump Milodon oil pan. I noticed when turning the front wheels all the way in either direction the crosslink touches the back of the pan. I cannot tell if the steering is stopping because of the pan or if it is at the end of the steering radius. How do you set a steering stop on these cars, or is there even a way to do that? When I get contact with the pan it does appear to be at the  the end of the turning radius, but cannot tell for sure.

There is a "nub" on the lower ball joint/steering arm that contacts the lower control arm that limits the steering angle/radius .
