Video: Hemi Hideout
« on: July 17, 2013 - 01:50:24 PM »
Still pinching myself that I was lucky enough to get invited to a party by a private collector of vintage Mopars last night.  The collection is not large but the setting is as spectacular as the cars.  The stock cars are numbers matching, with a pair of hemi-cuda convertibles at the top of the food chain along with a hemi Challenger convertible.  They also have some resto mods which are not numbers cars.

If money was no object, this is the garage I would have!

Unless I win the lotto, that isn't going to happen in my lifetime . . . . Looks like a cool place though!

I felt the same way, the building is just as great as the cars.  No nails in the wood frame, so they went the really old school (early 1800's?) route on that.  Both the construction company and the engineering firm were so proud of how things turned out that they had a professional film crew out to get footage.  I can see why they would want to show that as an example of what they can do.

I didn't know the owner and got invited by a friend on the film crew who knows I have a 70 Challenger and love the vintage Mopars in particular.  I did meet the owner and he was a cool guy and you'd never guess he was the owner just talking to him, just a fun loving car guy.  His first car was a 383 Super Bee, which explains why there are lots of Super Bees in his collection.

Unbelievably cool, but all I could think of was, between the building and the cars that is a BOAT-LOAD OF MONEY! A very BIG boat! Call it a SHIP-LOAD. :wow: Who is that guy? Cowboys owner Jerry Jones? Man, to have that kind of money to throw down on a building and cars :faint:
