I just painted my engine compartment. Cost about $500 in primer, paint, reducer, and clear. I needed a quart plus a pint to fix my screw ups. I did paint my lower valence and grill too. Now add in the sandpaper, tape, drop plastic, paper, cups, a spray gun, cleaner, filler, and chassis black for the wheel wells, and I am sure I have $750 just in product not including the sprayer. It took me ALOT of time, and ALOT of work, plus it was difficult and stressful. It might be worth it to pay the cash if it is a reasonable cost. It was really hard work. Twisting wrenches is a lot easier.
