No power to dash instruments
« on: August 19, 2013 - 05:46:55 PM »
71 Cuda with Ralley dash   Went for a 3-4 hour drive.  Stopped enroute, and no power to instruments,   I could start and drive the car, no other probs    I just installed a 120 amp alt the day before.   Sound like a blown voltage relay?

Sorry: Fuel, temp and oil pressure are the gauges that went out.

This  happened about a 3 hour drive after I installed a 120 amp alternator.  I had a solid state type voltage limiter, and just now replaced it with the same type

The three gauges work fine now.  I am going back to a 75 amp alternator just in case that caused the issue
