I bought a 1973 Challenger a month or so ago, that had a very bad scratch on the front fender. The scratch is a problem by itself, but the previous owner tried to do "something" to it, probably sanding the scratch. He then proceeded to cover the whole thing up with cheap paint from a can. I removed that awful paint job with gas, and I'm now left with this. For now I wouldn't mind simply using paint to fill the scratch, but the sanded part will still look quite bad.
I assume that he simply sanded the clear. If so, can I polish it back to a good finish?
