WOW, they sure have come down in price, I paid $1200 for mine!  :pullinghair:
I will gladly help "ease your pain" if you make me a cool valley plate that will work with 440 source heads on a low b engine? lol. I will make it worth your while.

I'd love to help you but I'd need all the parts right in front of me to make it fit right.  :(

OK. Got my louvers today. They look absolutely gorgeous! New car smell. lol. I will check for contour in the AM. Installation instructions were "vague" at best. I got/get the measuring for center and the drilling for the base mounts, but the bag with the upper mount stuff had 6 - 1 1/2" long machine screws, 6 - locknuts, 6 screws, and 7 washers, and two gaskets. Without explanation. Except for drill 3/32" hole, and do no tighten to tight. Anybody that can shed some insight, please feel free to do so. I have a vinyl top. I eventually want to change my headliner to one of the solid ones, (SE Headliners) if that makes a difference. Thanks ahead of time.

Gumby … Looking forward to your pics. I was wondering if you could tell me how it sounds while you are driving when you get them on. I had a 1976 Toyota Celica with louvers on the back and they rattled while I was driving. (Yes, it was new at the time) It could be because it was just poorly made or because they were attached to a hatchback. I’m thinking about putting them on my Challenger but the Toyota has me a little worried. Here is a picture … not mine but it was like this one.

Congrates----you're going to love the new look to your car with louvers. My car is an original louvered car so I already had the mounting holes/posts in the car. The top mounting holes in the roof should have nut zerts in them.   I think they were 10/24 size if I remember right. I got the installation tool and zerts from Harbor Freight. There is enough room between the roof and headliner that the bolts should not be an issue. I was looking for a better pic. but this is all I could find. I'll see if I have a closer shot of the roof.  Post a bunch of pictures when there on.  Can't wait.      :bananasmi

In my former life, I worked as a mechanic, in a paint and body shop industrial setting. So I have the nutsert tool and inserts (mirrors, etc). I just can't, for the life of me, understand why they would either use a) screws - short ones at that, maybe 1/2" or b) 1 1/2' long machine screws without explaining either one. I would NEVER use screws for this application. I will use the machine stuff with washers and nylock nuts from underneath. And nutserts from on top, if applicable. But I will cut the machine screws down to a managible level. 1 1/2" is nuts. NO BIG DEAL. Just know what you are getting if you order these. Just whacky stuff. I may even get some of those "theft proof" bolts to hamper thieves. I am just SO happy that THEY WERE NOT DESTROYED in shipping! I HATE UPS and FEDX because of their stuff they have pulled in the past. Absolutely HATE THEM BOTH. They have cost me many dollars, thousands of dollars, with no recourse. I HATE them. The jerk today left a message on my door. I instructed Dale's Cuda Shop that I would be at home and did not want to sign for the package - well, the jerk left a message that I needed to sign. I called up their office on the message, was assured that I didn't need to sign, didn't know why the driver didn't leave it. 15 minutes later the jerk shows up and made me sign for it anyway. THANK GOD IT WASN"T ALL SCREWED UP. Dales Cuda Shiop packaged it expertly, but I have had stuff packaged in PLYWOOD with forklift holes in it. I HATE UPS AND FEDX. The seem to go out of their way to f00k things up.

There are videos on you tube of Fedx and UPS shenanigans. It ain't pretty, and neither of the companies apparently give a shoot. Look it up. They will tell the buyer that it's the sellers resposibility to make a claim. Then, the will tell the seller that it's the buyers resposibility - AD NAUSEUM un til both parties are pissed - all the while, knowing that they will do nothing. I HATE THEM!

In anothe life I used to run warehouses. UPS reps would always tell me that everything had to be packed to survive a two foot fall to concrete, which I always thought was an odd direction. the one day I was in the UPD sorting facility when they were unloading a truck. They pushed a conveyor belt up to the truck. the conveyor belt was about two feet high, and at the end all of the packages just fell off of it onto a concrete floor.

I just used common nutserts with a bit of sealer on them before I installed them. It IS a bit un nerving drilling holes in a perfectly good roof and Dutchman panel I'll admit! :grinyes:

I bought a set of Gene's louvers.  Very poor fit. I spent a couple of hours pulling them off and on tweaking them. The issue is the fit along the sail panels. They set up to high. I ended up breaking some welds. If you can really call them welds. Very poor quality welds that look like bubble gum wads. I plan on grinding all the welds and reshaping everything and tig welding it back together.  The other problem is the ends of the blades are different lengths. The fix there will be to mark a straight line and grind the edge straight. These are usable if you are a body man. But for the money I expected a little better and not to mention not everyone has the skills to make them work.
