Question about refueling....

Whenever I fill up my 70 barracuda, if I fuel to fast, it over flows/splashes out.  Isn't there a vent to prevent this or is normal for refueling these cars...?  I can never get the fuel filler into the port very well and am not sure if there is something wrong....  The car had a mild hit as the rear valance is pushed in about an inch.

sound to me like the vent is plugged ,definatly not normal

Is there a way to check this and/or correct it?  I'm tired splashing mixed 91/100 octane fuel on the valance and bumper.... grrrrr

I have the same problem Kevin! I think I have more vent holes in my 73 gas tank compared to your 70? I will try to look at my fuel vent lines tomorrow and see if that helps

I have that problem at some stations. I thought it had something to do with the bend in the nozzle. I noticed that the bigger the bend, the less splash I get

I have not tried it with a rear-fuel car yet, but......

Holding the nozzle upside down sure helps with Challengers.

Same problem...  Grrrr...   New pumps, fuel pressure too high and no bend in the nozzle, plus the CA
emissions equipment that seal the nozzle to the filler get in the way making it worse.. 

Wish I had a solution to this.

Same problem with my '70 Cuda.

yup...
I just push a rag under the nozzle to keep gas from damaging the paint.
