New vs old wiring

I am finally getting ready to turn the corner and start putting my car back together after almost 8 years. It goes to body and paint next wk.
since the car is down to bare bones should I replace all the wiring harness now? Sure seams like a good idea to me to avoid an gremlins in the future. The car has been off the road and garaged since around 1980. What do you think?

It depends on the condition of your old wiring. Some say that the wiring breaks down (and the insulation) over time. I
think if the wiring is pliable,flexible and without alot of repairs, then use it. But if it is showing age and most importantly, you
can afford it, then replace it. Only buy new from M&H through Yearone, And then only when they are having their 30% off
sale. That is happening on a fairly regular basis lately.

If the car is down to the bare bones I would say yes.  I guess I wouldn't want to kick myself in the head later after the car is complete and there are electrical problems that may have not happen if the harness was changed, especially since everything is out of the car right now.

If the car has been apart since 80 I bet the wiring is ok , it depends if people hacked into it to add stereos tachs etc , if the wiring is soft & un cut it may be fine

No but I have been thinking about doing that. Seams like afteyall this time the project is about yo take off
