    I would like to test the variable wiper motor in my friend's 71 Challenger. The motor is installed on the car. It isn't parking. The motor was restored many years ago, but this is the first time we have energized the system. When I push the switch the washer bottle does work, but that is on a separate circuit. The motor does seem to be grounded properly.

    Good video Alan. I only have one speed and it doesn't park. Maybe that's my problem. Thanks.

    Thanks Alan........ I'll give that a shot... Jules is the one who rebuilt the motor........ But I sort of don't understand, is there a place that the bracket the switch is mounted to which grounds it? I know the switch has to be grounded too for the FSM shows that.......

    This will give me a clue.........  Thanks........

    I had the same problem, just installed a seperate wire from the back of he plate to the dash.

    Wow, I just did that before I read these replies...... Since I have the mini-cluster out, I'm going to do what was done in the video, but in the car...... I too installed a separate ground wire and will attach it to an appropriate ground point under the dash.....

    Someone mentioned there is a ground strap that is supposed to go between the steering column and dash frame like in my '69 Chargers?

    The four wires coming out of the wiper harness, does anyone know which spades they plug into? I'm having a hard time looking at the video and seeing them........ I have the switch cluster out and going to test everything outside of the dash (wiper motor still installed in car ).....

    On my 72, for the 4 wires coming out of a 3 speed wiper motor they are wired like this:

    Red from wiper motor goes to terminal F-1 on the switch
    Brown from wiper motor goes to terminal A on the switch
    Dark Blue from wiper motor goes to terminal P on the switch
    Dark green from wiper motor goes to terminal F-2 on the switch

    The other wire you need is a 12 gauge power wire to the switch on terminal B
    The last terminal W is for the window washer

    Hope this helps.

    I wonder if you had to ground the frame because the ground at the wiper itself was completely gone?
