Help, new dash harness install, no brake lights
« on: October 25, 2013 - 05:22:18 PM »
Ok guys,  I just installed my new under dash harness.  Everything is good except I have no brake lights.  I looked under the dash at the brake light  switch and there is nothing connected to it.  There are two prongs (blade connectors) on the switch but only one looks like there was anything ever connected to it.  I don't remember pulling any connections off of the brake switch.  I have a pink and white connector hanging from the new harness and I plugged them in but Nada, nothing.     I checked my old harness but I still don't see where that connection is.  I looked at a wire harness diagram and did not see anything about the brake light switch.

any and all help is appreciated.

Pink & white is correct , connect the 2 wires together & see if the lights come on , if they do the switch is bad
, if they do not then you may have a problem in the turn signal switch so you can test power to the column plug , white into the switch & see if the power returns to the brake light wires  green & brown maybe ?

Thanks again.  I initially only hooked up one wire at a time.  Now that both the white and pink are connected.......I've got my brake lights back.
