Anyone else have one of those summers???
« on: November 01, 2013 - 03:09:23 PM »
So this summer did not go quite as I had hoped...due to our move in May, I did not get the cuda on the road until mid august.

Then due to our crazy life, projects around the house etc. I put less then 250 miles on the car this year.

Truth be told, the car was not much fun to drive anyway, standard steering coupled with fast ratio pitman arm, and a less the optimum alignment, was just not what I expected.  So it was not like I was itching to drive it.

So I am planning to convert to power steering this winter and lower the car down in the rear and then fix the alignment and make the car more fun to drive.

I planned to have my car out early this year but it didn't actually get out until the beginning of august. $h1T happens. But I find driving an ebody is an ego boost. Everyone shows their appreciation of the car you drive. Just a few days ago while on the last cruise of the season I had loads of 'nice car', 'tell me how much you want for it', 'shweeet' and 'effin sick man!' ( I think the last one is good). From the young crowd to the old.
So they are alot of work, but satisfying.

Ya, can't say that my summer went as planned. Didn't seem to get much of anything done. Painted the car on the
4th of July and it doesn't seem like a whole lot else got done since then. Hopefully a lot of progress will show this winter.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I changed out the power steering gear box on my satellite a few months back. Threw off the alignment, so when I finally made the time to get it aligned they told me the idler arm was bad (replaced pitman with gear box). Figured I needed to replace the wheel bearings up front soon too, so I decided to do it all at once. Never did make it back to the alignment shop so only took little trips around town this year lol.
Cuda is gone :(

I had a bunch of car shows marked in my calendar this year and made it to none. It rained 100% of the car shows that were on my must attend list.

I got out to a fair amount of local cruise in's though. Probably put 700-900 Miles on it this year.

Sounds like you have a plan. Now get the parts needed so it happens, and then ENJOY it next summer. Now get those parts!

I just wish I could even drive the car legally on the road!  I would be happy to just drive the car!  :grinyes:

Have had the car now 10 years now this month and have never had it registered. It runs and stuff now after sorting out the carb issue.  Now I have some financial dieting so back burner it sits...  :violin:
