Excuse me while I vent ...one moment please
« on: April 07, 2005 - 12:30:21 PM »
F*CK  F*CK  F*CK!!!!
It never fails ...I go to do a little preventative maintainance surgery and I end up getting a full frontal lobotomy.Dropped the tranny to replace the throw out bearing ..only! And I find the pilot bushing looks like it was 2 piece ...one slid inside the other. One is in the crank and a smaller one is ballanced in the splines of the clutch. tryin to fish one out I dropped it in the pressure plate anyway. May I repeat  "F*CK F*CK F*CK It Never Fails"
I did not want to pull the scattersheild under any condition...originally.I'm so far behind at work I didnt need this tieing up a bay. I planned on this being a simple in and out (a couple hours) while I waited for parts and machine work to com back from machine shop!!

Thanks I needed that!!!!!!!

bummer - I hate that whole can of worms deal.  :bs:

If it makes you feel any better, it's happened probably to all of us.

Whose postulate was that "Murphy was an optomist?"

Bad luck indeed. Get someone with long thin fingers to fish around in the PP. ;D

Sorry J/K - and when you dro pthe scattershield and PP you'll see the flywheel needs resurfacing and the PP has heat cracks in it.

Whenever I do anything of a maintainence/ update (other than a fresh total restoration/restification) I allow for the absolute worst possible. That way I am around 50% happy when things aren't as bad as I had expected. ;D

You made the flywheel? Ummm  - you're a machinist perchance?
