is blower motor needing replacement?

i put the fan on and i cant hear anything then i put it on high and i hear it and it actually SLIGHTLY blows air. should i just replace? its like 20 bucks. and is it easy to replace?

I would check connections plus ground and maybe remove, clean and oil lightly.  It that doesn't work then replace.

Check the resistor that screws to the top of the heater box.

If your heater box hasn't been rebuilt, now would be a good time to do that.  Pull it out, buy a gasket kit from DMT and have at it.

the resister controls the lower speeds , high bypasses the resistor , so definatly check that out

ok so if it is as you described can i get a new resistor? and if so can i just fix it?

The resistor is on top of the box and is held in with two screws.  The blower motor wires plug into it.  There isn't much room to work...you might not be able to get to it without removing the heater box...I'm not sure.  If it's bad, you'll most likely have to find a used replacement.  The only other suggestion would be to contact JS Restorations.  Jim might be able to come up with something that will work for you.

The resister may be able to be repaird if the coils are burnt & disconnected possibly by soldering the coils back together .  I am not sure if thereis a replacement available & where to find it
