Pertronix.com

I thought of going that way but the revinator seems like a better choice now.

If you want it to look stock 1970, then I would agree Pertronics is the way to go :2thumbs:

If you want it to look factory installed....You could get the Mopar Performance conversion kit, but also the correct mounting bracket in the correct location.

This was an option starting in 71 and became standard after that..THey all used this bracket...

I'm going to go with a Pertronix distributor on my Dart.  I hate the look of the ignition boxes on years that didn't come with them from the factory.  The problem with the orange boxes has affected a lot of people. I haven't heard anything good about the newer MP distributors either.  I guess the timing bounces all over the place and causes big problems with tuning.

I've installed several Pertonics conversions with no issues....mind you these cars weren't "raced" on driven extremely hard...

Definatly not  a fan I have seen at least 1/2 a dozen fail completely  leaving you stranded waiting for a tow truck , we had an intermittent start problem with one , often the car would not start traced it back to the pertronics , swapped it out & never had a problem again

Honestly not sure , it has been 5 years since I tried one if that helps .
I know they often fail when connected improperly , most people connect them to the + & - coil terminals but that only supplies the Pertronics 7 v not the required 13 v but that was not what cause the issues for me

Yah, you have to bypass the ballast with the newer ones and use their coil.  They will also burn up if you leave the key on without the engine running.
