Mine does the same thing. I know my gas tank was replaced. Not sure if that has something to do with it. Looking forward to the answers.

I think you will need to pull the tank and adjust the float on the sending unit until it reads full.  :eek4:

IF the sending unit is a repop, they are calibrated wrong for Mopars.
The ohms are wrong for Mopar gauges.

I have heard adding 50 ohm resister is the fix,

put a 50 ohm resistor in line between the guage & sender , should cost less than $.25 at an electronocs store , if 50 ohm is correct sounds high to me but it might work OK

Was going to say head to digikey but here is one that should be close to everyone:

Or if you are good enough you can make your own - might take a bit of time to get the correct length of wire.

could be you float as well. They often leak and fill with gas

Dave,

I'm not following the logic here.

If you short the blue wire from the sending unit to ground, the gauge will read full. Adding a resistor will only make it more inaccurate in this case.

The standard Mopar sending unit measures about 12 Ohms full, and 70 Ohms empty.

I would suggest trying to bend the arm with the float of your sending unit downward a bit.    :2cents:

If you do add a resistor, I'd recommend adding a variable one or a potentiometer.  They are more expensive but it would allow you to tune it have the gauge read exactly what you want.
