I am restoring a '70 Barracuda Gran Coupe hardtop and want to change from the Gran Coupe theme to the 'Cuda style chrome molding. I bought the trim from Van's Auto and it is superb. It came with the clips even. What I need to know is this. Doe's anyknow the correct location and drill bit size for the mounting clips. I appreciate any help on this so thanks in advance for anyone replying.

Good luck trying to put them on! I just put a set on my Cuda. I got them from Metro and I assume only one person is making them and after years of doing this I realize most repro stuff is close but almost never right. I forget what size drill I used but that should be easy to find out. Make the hole small enough so the fingers of the clip will go through and then when you push the pin in the fingers will open up and hold the clip in. Then just push the trim on the clip and pop it on. That's how it is suppose to work but it didn't! The C moldings will use the clips with the nuts on them. What I found out is the trim slot is a little bit smaller then is should be and when I was able to pop the bottom trim on it did bow the trim out a little bit. Not terrible but its not right. You cant use a bolt on clip like on the C' because its so close to the trunk floor you cant get a nut on. For the top piece I bought another set of clips and used the ones for C's on the top. Now I get to fight the door top trim. Anyone have a better idea please let us know.

Pretty sure it's a 1/4 hole, measure it against your clips as mentioned above.

Many, many thanks for the feedback guys. Especially the photos. In re the door top molding, all I can say is make sure you have the correct clips. My brother had some he thought were correct but when I compared them to originals from my car they were "look alikes" that were actually a slightly different size. I ordered a set from Roseville and they are identical to the original clips. Now modifying my new AMD door skins for the correct weatherstripping is another story entirely. They are shipped with the correct screw holes for '71's and up. My car is a '70,plus I already had the weatherstripping before the new skins.

I did this modification to my Barracuda as well, and yes � inch holes are correct, but as suggested test the clips to the hole prior to drilling all of them. Mine where lose in the �- hole and does not hold the trim tight against the body panel. There are four clips that actual have a nut on the back of them no one could tell me which holes or trim pieces they corresponded to, so I use one on each trim piece, top, bottom, and to ends.
