Thickness of spacer needed to properly tilt differential
« on: December 31, 2013 - 03:00:22 PM »
How thick of a spacer is needed at the rear mounting of the axel/differential to tilt it down 3 degrees ? Mine is going to most likely need tilted down due to using a Tremec 5 speed and would like to have an idea of what thickness of spacers to have on hand. If needed, I'll make my own using strap steel.

The "spacers" are triangles in shape.
You need to do some math to figure that out, a^2 + b^2 = c^2 and tan(theta) = O/A

Or someone might already have some they could measure.

I made my own 3 degrees and they were about 3/8"-1/2" at the thickest point? If that helps?

They can be as thick as you want, as long as one end is thicker as shown in the previous post.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Okay, just measured a 3 degree shim. 5" long, 3/8th thick on one end, 1/8 thick on the other end.
