Wow!
It's funny because the glove box light was the only light that worked when I bought my car.
So, I'll tell a story that will hopefully ease your pain. I'm in the electrical field by trade, so that makes this story particularly embarrassing.
I'm installing the hard brake line front to back. I have the battery disconnected, but for some reason that escapes me, I was too lazy to take it out of the engine bay. So I'm sliding in the brake through the engine bay towards the rear, when all of a sudden my battery turned into a welder. The brake line had touched both terminals of the battery...smoke, sparks, and me burning my fingers on the now hot brake line.
What a dumb azz!!
