I'm not sure about this, but I think I need to start looking into the reality of selling my car. It is a 70 A66 car with a 4 speed. It is not numbers matching. The engine is date code correct. The trans is new from Passon Performance. I have the original numbers matching gear box that is currently disassembled. The rear end is an original e body Dana 60 with 4.10 gears, again not original to the car, but valuable none the less. I have an overhaul kit and the ring and pinion for 3.54 ratio. The engine is recently rebuilt. Probably less than 2000 miles on it. Virgin block that only had to go .020" over, square decked to 9.588, KB replacement 340 dome pistons. Original forged crank, Eagle I beam rods. Eddy open chamber heads to accommodate the 340 dome piston. Static compression somewhere in the 10:1 area. Lunati voodoo cam. I can't remember the grind number off the top of my head, but I have all of the paperwork for the complete build both from the machine shop and from the work I did. Comp Cams roller rockers. Fuel is delivered through a Mopar performance six-pak intake and the correct vacuum actuated carbs. I have an original 340 six-pak intake. I have a new center carb on the engine, but have all three original carbs. I have a driveline vibration that I believe is the trans yoke worn, but am not for sure. Driveshaft was rebuilt when I installed the trans. Front seats have been re-done with legendary components. Frames and springs were cleaned and powder coated before re-upholster. All new foam, burlap and piping was used. New seat tracks purchased from Roseville Moparts. The rest of the interior is however, 43 years old and needs restoration. I have a rimblow wheel in restorable condition on the car now plus the original wheel as well. The car is originally B5 blue and still is, but been painted about 5 times. Car is originally a vinyl top car with the stripe delete. Vinyl top was removed at some point, but holes were just bondo'd over. Car has never been wrecked from what I can tell but the hood is not original to the car. All vin stampings are present plus data plate. Deck lid needs to be replaced but useable and the usual places has rust but it's not a rust bucket. Has 15x7 rallys on now and I also have a set of steelies that were on it when I bought it. R/T emblems were put on by previous owner, but are stick ons.
I know I should be telling you what I want for it but in all honesty, I don't know what it would be worth. My gut tells me it should be worth somewhere around $15,000 but my gut has been wrong before. So what do you guys think?
Let me end this by saying I haven't completely decided to sell it yet. I've owned it for 23 years and one reason after another never got to restore it. I'm 51 now with a daughter about to go to college and can't see how I will ever be able to get it done. I love the car and it is a complete blast to drive, but reality is thumping me pretty hard lately. Anyway, what's it worth to you?
Thanks.
Kevin
Sorry, I forgot to say the car is in the Boise, ID area.
