there's different magnaflow mufflers. I had a 3 inch straight through Magnaflow on my 99 Trans Am.  Gets quite loud,
and really helps the cops spot you.

The Walker Super Turbos are very high flowing, but quieter, and are recommended by
TTI.  I have Super Turbos on my 3 inch TTI system on my Cuda, but I still have to wear earplugs.

Thanks guys, I just bought the 15851 kit so not sure which mufflers it comes with, I'll more than likely add resonators in to hush it a little

I do know that a 3 inch system is a lot louder than a 2.5 inch, at least under your seat!

Same here but in 2 1/2"
Just checked, mine is 2.5" not 3". I have a good memory, just really short. :eek7:

towards the end, the x pipe without resonators sounds closest to what I've
experienced with maganflows.  But again, though they sound great, you
will be a serious cop magnet!

NICE, thanks for the vid posts guys, Cudabob, those Magnaflow bullet's, are they a straight through muffler, i.e, can you see straight through them? at this point I was planning on installing the 15851 Magnaflow kit which just has the two mufflers/ resonators under the floor with no mufflers either side of the gas tank. If its still a little loud I was going to get a couple fo those bullets, provided they are traight through and fit them either side of the gas tank, somewhat the same as factory. this is my 340 with factory pipes and manifolds.

The magnaflows I bought were straight through, you can see through them, but the pipe wall is
perforated and wrapped in fiberglass I think. The magnaflow I bought sounded great, but I was
drawing too much attention to myself, and wanted to be a little more stealthy.  The Super Turbos
are not straight through, but are known for very little back pressure, and much quieter, and are about
$50 a pop at Summit.  They key to making power is a properly designed header, then as little back pressure as possible after the header.

And trust me, the Super Turbos on my Cuda above 5000 rpm are very loud!

I originally put Flowmasters on my Cuda, the sound was torture!

Audio would require this computer-barely-literate car enthusiast to get some help. If you're not in a hurry I might try on Sunday. Too busy the next two days. No promises as it will require taking the car out into the snow to get proper sound :22yikes:
