New In-Line emergency brake kit assembly question
« on: February 01, 2014 - 11:28:00 AM »
Bought a new emergency brake line kit. Question is, does the cable start by going from the outside wheel well, through the hole and attach to the assembly so that the firewall plug is outside pushed inward or from the inside pushed outward, to plug the hole? the pictures and diagrams are terrible and do not show well at all.

The former.  Plug pushes from outside to inside.  A little sealer around the hole doesn't hurt either.

The correct E Body emergency brake cable grommet has three metal tabs on them.

The grommet pushes through from the inside of the car towards the outside.

You will see the grommet from the inside of the interior and you will see the three metal tabs from inside the wheel well. :2cents:
