My heart was with the Fury, but my son has a 04 PT turbo and Lordy, that thing will haul a$$ for a 2.5 or 150ci 4 banger. But, like the men said, there's no replacement for displacement and a hemi says it best- with regrets to Pillsbury.

I've had (2) SRT4s, they are great cars for what they are. Run 13s stock, in a blink of an eye they run 12s, and with not much work (no internal work) 11s. There are plenty that make 500hp on stock internals - Keep in mind that it's 148 CI, so that's well over 3hp per CI. I've never seen any big block mopar come close to ratio on stock internals. My full srt4s took everything I threw at them and then some, biggest problem was traction.....

That's a fun video, just to clarify, that was a belvedere vs a srt4, not a neon . I know someone is gonna say they are the same, I'm just sayin, it doesn't say NEON anywhere on a srt4. Lol just poking at people here, I love em both, muscle cars are the coolest thing ever haha but can't complain about a 4cyl mopar runnin 12s with a few bolt ons getting 28mpg all day long

I know a guy  that just bought an SRT neon to build up for a circle track race car in the 4cyl division. Should be a strong runner, let the whining begin!

I'm pretty sure the SRT-4 engine is completely different than the old Mistubishi engines in the Avenger.  The SRT engine is all Chrysler.  It was used in the Neon SRT-4, PT Cruiser turbo and the Caliber SRT-4.

FWD Mopars are a strainge breed.  The muscle car guys in general hate them and the import guys don't respect them either.

It's odd but now u mention it that is kinda true.  What WASN'T mentioned (maybe in threads futher down I didn't get too) in reference to the Mitsubishi and dodge/Plymouths sharing engines, is how about the old stealth R/T TT?  Had VR4 3000GT motor.  Now I AM MUCH more of a muscle car guy (68 440 GTX, 70 340 Cuda currently) but I am STILL looking for a low mile, clean example of the stealth to buy.  Twin-turbo, AWD, VERY fun, VERY EASILY modified into a VERY fast car.  A friend had one in college and I fell in love w/it.  Sorry everyone.  Still, I wouldn't mind an SRT4 Neon to mod and then just use as a gas saver/commute to work vehicle by any means.  It would probably be faster and get better gas mileage (though just not as nice/convenient/comfortable) as my current car I use for this purpose, which is an Acura 3.2 TL Type-S
