Learned something new!
« on: February 06, 2014 - 11:39:25 PM »
Now I don't want to give anyone the impression that I think I know everything about cars...'cuz I don't

But, being an old(er) car guy that has been studying the subject for close to a 1/2 century it's not everyday I learn something new.
So most of you guys an gals know that some mopar's came with reverse threaded lug nut on the drivers side right? I thought they were the only ones.
But did you know Roll Royce's Had the same design on the lugs well into the '80's? I didn't!
They may still have that design for all I know. :clueless:

Yep, saw that on a recent episode of Fast and Loud.   :2thumbs:
1970 Plymouth 'Cuda.  Matching numbers 440 U Code, 4 speed pistol grip, Rallye dash, AM 8 Track, Shaker hood, 15 inch rallye wheels, Dana 60 4.10, Super Track Pak.  One of 134 - 440 "U" coupes codes built in 1970 and one of 100 - 440 Super Track Paks built in 1970.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

And most ambulances (fords anyway) did too. I think a lot of heavy street vehicles did as a matter of fact.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I posted this on a British Mopar Forum and yes RR,S had left hand threads with brass nuts, till about 2000 and bentleys had them until 2003.

One also said they had a Kia in the Philippines with left had studs :2cents:

I can attest that Studebaker used LH lugs in the '50s

I didn't know about it until I bought my 70 Challenger. Have to admit that one of the first things I did was pull them out and put in some right hand threads.  Not exactly stock, but it made it easier for an old guy.
