     My first movies with family in Chicago was in a new 1961 biscayne wagon then new 64 Impala wagon and then Dad moved up to a gold 67 Town and Country 440 wagon... NICE.
      Seems like they were Audey Murphy westerns. Tarzan movies etc.    I dated wife and 428 mustang was driven to local 'Polleyanna' drive in to watch movies. I remember vanising point, Crazy Larry. Which I then remember I owned 69 hemi orange 440 roadrunner but locals showed 2 lane black top about every weekend.. hehe
     I believe durring these  times were the reason I quit going to movies . Daughter was concieved and differant lifestyle followed. ;) LOL

    hey..uhh....what happened to that cuda?

    I think like everyone said i'd find a way to get a movie on the screen and i'd definatelly add some people to the scene to make it more real. it lacks that "time and place/ snapshot in time" without human activity.

    as for Ottawa i beleive the closest drive in is in Port Elmsley http://www.portelmsleydrivein.com/ as you can see int he cpiture they often have classic car cruise and movie nights.

    I am too young to really know the drive in experience.

      Thanks for the comments everyone.  I started building this one just  before Christmas. In the winter I go on reduced hours for work, depending on the weather. Work 1-2 days a week so I have time to build.  Plus I just hate the cold so I just kinda go into hibernation mode till spring.      ::)    I am definately going to look into those pocket projecters like spamtank posted.  I made the projection booth on top so I could hide a battery pack for working lights--but with a little modification  this might work.  How cool would that be.    :bananasmi    Till then I will definately print out a scene from the movies and put it on the screen.  Like I said---- still a work in progress.  Will be adding people and other stuff as I go along.  Keep those ideas coming .   Thanks

    What must be a rarity these days, a new drive in was built in Langley, BC (Vancouver suburb) about 10 years ago. 
    It just converted to a digital projector, and appears to be on pretty sound financial ground.  It is fun to go to and has lots of other events.

    I find it a LOT harder to climb out of the trunk nowadays though, it was easy 45 years ago....trunks must have gotten smaller.

    You might try to find some really small O-rings that look like rubbers and place them beside the cars. 

    I lost my cherry in the back of my '69 Barracuda with the rear seat and trunk separator laid down at a drive-in. :D

    They do look like models.  It's a shame.  But at least they were Superbirds or Hemi Cudas   :bigsmile:
