Black 70´ challenger RED bumblebee stribe ?
« on: February 15, 2014 - 04:46:20 AM »

Hi Guys.

I have considered a red R/T bumblebee stribe on the rear end of black 70´ challenger.
but what do you guys do, paint it or a decal, ex yearone.

i am not sure what it will look like, but i think it will give a nice touch, on a black car.

Thanks guys.

Do you have the longitudinal stripe already on there?

I would go with the red bumble bee stripe then. The looks of your avatar threw me.  :smilielol:

For anyone who can paint a car it is easy to do.  There is no vinyl sticker as vinyl won't hold long term to the compound curves on the rear.  No stencil is needed, just tape it w fine-line tape. Everything you need to know about measurements is here:

http://www.performancecargraphics.com/Stripes_Lettering/Challenger/70_Bumblebee.htm

I did mine but I know how to paint a car and have all the facilities and equipment.  If you don't know of have the kit to do it, you will mess it up likely.

Trying to attach photos but preview is not showing them.  If they appear you can see the process I used.  I posted them here on another Challenger site before:

It's possible one of these new "vinyl wrap" companies could do it for you in vinyl :dunno:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

MIne was done the way the factory did it so the stripe was painted first then masked while the rest of the car was painted not that you can do that now , striping it would be tough with vinyl due to the curves of the body line but I suppose you could over cover the area & trim it back . You could paint it carefully polish it & clear over it to make it smooth
