Flush brake system - 71 cuda w/power discs
« on: March 02, 2014 - 01:23:40 PM »
I just this past week repaired a leaking brake line in my 92 Stealth. It leaked in an inaccessible spot behind the engine on the firewall, so I had to snake a full 84 inch line from the left front wheel connection through the fender, along the firewall and all the way over to the most accessible part of the old line I could find on the inside of the right front fender, and I made my coupling splice there. If you have ever taken a look under a twin turbo stealth hood, you know that was no easy task. The flexible steel lines are great.
Anyway, I have speed bleeders on all four of my stealth calipers, and it made the bleeding job super easy. Just kept pumping away as my help kept filling the reservoir, and I bled all four corners simultaneously with about 20 pumps of the pedal. Took about 3 minutes and hopefully virtually all the old stuff has been replaced.
Does anyone sell speed bleeders for oem type calipers?
Basically just has a ball and spring check valve inside it so you can pump the pedal back and forth without fear of drawing air back in the caliper as you let off the pedal.

 :banghead:
That was easy. Its called searching
I found this
http://www.speedbleeder.com/
and they sell them for ebodys which is no surprise. Im sure a pretty standard size and type.
These things are great!
Much like fujimoto valves for changing oil.
I love anything that makes the messy jobs go quicker and cleaner.

Next little project: Flush my probably 10 year old coolant.
I just counted about 10 different fluids in my car. Fortunately most dont need flushing.

I had a 92 Stealth rt/tt and I swear you could pour a bucket of water on top of the engine and it would not hit the ground! Had to learn how to remove a lot of parts out of the way to get to the one your working on.
