1970 E-body Emergency brake spring retainer/bushing
« on: March 03, 2014 - 11:25:01 AM »
Hello All,
Trying to help another buddy on his '70 'Cuda. On the emergency/parking brake mechanism, there's the plastic/fiber retainer the holds the return spring in place so it doesn't go through the rod hole. Does anyone sell these? Or, is one at the mercy of trying to find an original and hope it is good?

Alan?  :grinno:

Thanks in advance

Cut the top off of a firewall insulation nail and trim to size.  :smokin: I don't think anybody makes a reproduction :2cents:

Looks simple enough ,If somebody has a sample they could send me, I could make one from some Delrin or ABS plastic in the lathe here.

I just looked and I have 4 feet of ABS plastic round in the back that I can make the bushings with.. If someone sends me a sample part I'll make the first  prototype for free..
