I traded my Cuda.
« on: March 07, 2014 - 10:39:04 AM »
I know it's not an ebody (it's my 'other' Mopar), but after sitting for the better part of 10 years I decided to trade my 1968 Barracuda 'notchback'  :crying:  The car sits under a carport, so it's not completely shielded from the weather. The body wasn't prepped right when it was painted so the paint has bubbled in many places over the last ten years.

I have hated seeing the car just sit and get worse over the years. I have a small garage, but store the Challenger there. Don't get me wrong, I loved driving the Barracuda with it's spunky 360, but it really needs someone to love it as I spend the majority of my "hobby" money on the Challenger.  :money:

I found a local looking to trade a nice '96 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie SLT for a classic Mopar. It's a 1 owner truck, spotless interior, never smoked in, purrs like a kitten, meticulously maintained and 80,000 original miles. Also has the 5.2 liter V-8 (318). Can't go wrong with a good 318!!  It's got a few cosmetic issues, but is perfect as I hunt & need a truck as my Land Rover is dying! Mopar for Mopar even trade. What do ya think?

If you're happy and he's happy then it was the right deal.

Seems to be a very clean ride! The only problem whatsoever was the driver's seat (which is a cloth seat) had split in the fabric from sliding in & out of the truck. There is an automotive upholstery shop about a mile from my house and they have been there for about 50 years. The guy does awesome work and very reasonable. I took the truck there and he had the ORIGINAL material to fix the seat. He added some more padding and replaced the fabric and not even my wife with a hawk eye for detail can tell where the repair was made!!  :2thumbs:

I know the feeling of watching a mopar sitting in the back yard and not protected from the weather. :( Hope the guy does the car justice. Congrates on the truck.

I traded a 66 Charger for a 99 ford ranger, at the time it was the right thing to do.

Now in hindsight, it wasn't the right thing to do.

I traded a 66 that would have always been worth something for a 99 that will eventually be worth nothing.......
