Howling after power steering mod?

I have just finished doing the modification of fitting shims to the valve inside the steering pump. I went from .019 [which it had] to .090 total. so it would firm the steering as it is way to light, now its now howling like I have a gear drive! not at idle or slow speed just as the revs get higher it gets louder
I did refill it with Lucas power steering stop leak, however it had it in before, perhaps not quite as much. I use it in all my cars never a problem other than that what gives.. Ideas??

Did you figure this out? Only thing I could think of was you did not get the air purged from the system

Yup, car up in the air, turn lock to lock about 3-4 times and have a buddy tell you all the air is out of the lines while staring into the pump.
