iSimple TranzIt LINK Car Audio Integrator
« on: March 20, 2014 - 10:03:08 AM »
Hey everyone, has anyone ever tried one of these? Sounds pretty cool but want to make sure before buying one. I'd like to be able to play my iPhone through a factory AM/FM radio.

In theory it's a good idea.

I had a similar device once to play my Ipod. I found I was needing to find a different frequency every 20 minutes if I took a trip, because I would have some radio station interfering with the Ipod.

Now if you don't plan to make any long trips, it will work for you.

or just disconnect the antenna  :thinkerg:  FM converters for various products have been around for decades, wired works OK....the wireless ones are junk in my experience

FM transmitters are generally crappy depending on where you are. Lots of traffic, lots of stations ... you're going to have to change your broadcast band pretty frequently.

Bluetooth is pretty flawless though.

If you want to keep your factory system, by all means do so I personally would go with a modern head unit that has bluetooth and multimedia interfaces. If you want that "original" look ... retrosound has some modern products that fit while retaining the retro look. There are also services out there that will update your OEM unit.

What they're offering in a package can be purchased piecemeal at radioshack for 30 bucks.

In all honesty, if you're willing to shell out a hundred bills for a "kit" ... shell out 50-150 more for a deck with bluetooth.

Nice choice. If there's a better option to running wires ... go for it. You did. That unit will have all of you bases covered. Blue tooth for the wireless and USB for when bluetooth isn't an option.
