70' A66 challenger progress.
« on: May 03, 2014 - 11:41:34 PM »
Making progress on my "A66" challenger. Replaced the gas tank, motor is a 273; however, I just bought a 70' A66 challenger 340 V-8. The only thing that won't Mach is the last four of my vin in reference to the motor. She runs and drives. Decoded my finder tag for the paint job. VW9-"Transverse paint sport stripe (bumble bee)-white. TX9- paint code black. A66- "challenger 340 performance package, 340 1-4 barrel carb engine, 11 inch HD drum breaks, sport hood, F70 X 14 inch Goodyear poly glas raised white letter tires. Rally suspension, transverse paint stripe, scat pack decal on rear quarter window, 26 inch diameter radiator. I do understand the r/t badge isn't supposed to be on the girl, just haven't gotten around to taking it off. Enjoy!

That sure does look sweet!

White stripe, that's pretty cool . Gonna put the stripe back on?

So what color is the original interior?

Got more details on what the car was originally?

White interior, black car, with bumblebee stripe. To my understanding the A66 challenger has everything an R/T has, except the JS vin whereas mine is JH. 340 small block 4 speed, disc front brakes. I can't even work on it without some one driving by and then stopping to offer and buy it. Gets frusterating

A white interior.  That is really cool on the TX9 with vw9.
Are you going to go back to the white on black?
That is quite the garage find!  I like it more and more!

Try not to let it frustrate you.  They have chebies and ferds.  You have a Mopar.  That kind of thing just happens.

Try take some pictures in the open out of the shade, wait for an overcast day or late in the evening and take some more pictures to share please, it is looking really cool, and i look forward to seeing it back to just how you have it envisioned in your mind. :clapping:

:iagree:  also try turning the car's lights on and use the flash on the camera even if you don't think you need it.
